Now four books in, her latest, For the Love of Lemons, is
a sun-soaked tribute to Sardinian cooking and life on the island,
where she’s lived since 2017 and hosts seasonal retreats.
Where next? ‘Teulada, before the queues arrive... There’s
a local fisherman who takes guests out, then grills their catch
on the beach. He even had a write-up in The New York Times.’

NINA CAPLAN
BECKY WOOD
Since winning Fortnum &
Mason’s Restaurant Writer
of the Year award (2023),
Jo’s leaned into her role
as a ‘professional glutton’
– led by a sharp palate and
boundless curiosity.
Where next? ‘I’m excited
to explore the hyper-local
food scene of the Ziller
Valley in Tyrol, Austria, for
TasteBound next month.
I’ve only visited when it’s
draped in snow, so I’m
intrigued to see what’s
on offer with the region
in full bloom.’
Splitting her time between
London and Burgundy, Nina
contributes to numerous
national publications. Her
debut book, The Wandering
Vine: Wine, the Romans and
Me, won both Fortnum &
Mason and Louis Roederer
wine book awards. Her
second, on the Michelin
Guide, is due next year.
Where next? ‘Georgia
– considered the birthplace
of wine – to taste native
grape varieties and
explore the ancient art
of qvevri winemaking.’
Candid and characterled, Becky’s portraiture is
defined by a sense of natural
intimacy. For this issue, she
headed to the Faroe Islands
to photograph a new wave
of culinary pioneers and
island producers.
Where next? ‘I’m a fully
fledged bird nerd, so
Costa Rica’s rainbowfeathered jungle birds are
high on my list. But first, an
Italian honeymoon, I can't
wait to make homemade
authentic Italian pasta
dishes my party trick!’
